Miyano CNC Precision Turning Centers

Who would have thought that cigarette lighters would ultimately lead to the development of the most precise fixed headstock turning centers on the market today?  Believe it or not, it's true!  Founded in 1929, Miyano began manufacturing flint wheels for cigarette lighters.  The company developed its own automatic lathes to process the raw material for its flint wheels.  This remarkable innovation in the pre-WWII era eventually would lead Miyano to start manufacturing machine tools for the marketplace.  more....
